After 30 years of realising my classic car trading dream as owner of the company www.onlycabrios.nl I developed the next dream. Also renting classic cars to car lovers. In combination with sleeping in our big farmhouse in the traditional Dutch province of Drenthe. And I like to also realise my dreams!
Since November 1st, 2022 we are happy owners of a big farmhouse in Drenthe, built in 1922, so exactly 100 years old when we bought her. Three generations of 1 farmers family lived here before us, with a lot of cows in the old “deel” directly attached to the house. And later on they built another big shed for cows in the 60s, in the good old times when all farmers still were enlarging their farms instead of shrinking their cattle. In the old “deel” the cows disappeared, so small cattle, like sheep, goats and pigs came in.
You will sleep in the former milkhouse (inside the farmhouse), which we rebuilt completely for you to a modern apartment, with floor heating, wheelchair-friendly entrance, infrared sauna, rain shower, etc. We preserved old Dutch farm style elements, like the classic stable windows, lovely old style farmer’s wash basin, sleeping under the (isolated) reed roof (we inserted comfortable Velux roof windows in it with remote control for your convenience), etc. Partytime for people who love nostalgic farmhouses, in combination with up-to-date comfort!
The farmhouse itself and the apartment have been completely rebuilt in the past 2 years, coming from a 50s style. Our dream is to prolong our life’s work of trading in classic convertible cars and sporty coupe cars, in this big typical Drenthe region farm, and to add the rent of classic cars to our concept. We will also create a private collection museum in our farm stables, where we already placed all our 70 classic cars. You will love the view of a broad selection of classic cars in our classic farmhouse!
You can already now view, together with us, our private oldtimer collection (free of charge, as our guest during your holidays at us) enjoying our explanation for the cars you love. There you can also select the 2 cars (from our rental collection of around 10 to 15 cars) ,that you want to drive in your holidays at us. You can drive each car one day, so in total 2 days, during your holiday period. So you drive 2 days in our very touristic region full of woods and canals in the Drenthe, Friesland and Overijssel province region in Northeastern Holland. Undiscovered, surprising, fantastic countryside drivers’ pleasure!
